About
The Bowmanville Nursery School is a fun place to learn and grow. We have been a proud part of the community for over 60 years.
We are committed to offering an enrichment program for children aged 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. Included among the wide range of activities that students will be exposed to are an introduction to French, music, arts and crafts and a variety of field trips within the community. Classes are offered in the morning and afternoon. We also offer an enhanced program to include students with exceptional needs which includes a dedicated staff member.
Please have a look through our website to learn more about our programs and come by anytime to see what our school has to offer.
We hope to see you soon.
Bowmanville Nursery School is owned and operated by the Bowmanville Lions Club as a non-profit community service.
Philosophy
Bowmanville Nursery School is a place where a child will be busy, happy, and safe. The teachers work together to provide a stimulating environment in which each child develops socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. We also help to provide abundant opportunities for them to learn about the world around them and to master new skills. We are dedicated to providing an enriching learning environment for young children.
Socially, the children will learn cooperation and sharing through interaction with their peers. They will learn to follow routines and instructions.
Emotionally, the children will acquire independence, trust of other adults outside of their immediate family and socially acceptable ways of expressing themselves.
Physically, the children will be provided with the equipment to develop gross and fine motor skills. In the process they will gain confidence and will experience the thrill of achievement.
Intellectually, in our caring and accepting environment, the children will be motivated to learn by doing things, to reach out for new experiences thereby building the foundations for later learning.
Creatively the children will be encouraged to explore a variety of materials in arts and crafts also to express themselves through music and dramatization.
